Too bad it isn't .268, Grafs has the Carcano version of that bullet in stock in bulk, and strangely, cheaper than the .264.

I am sure the Lapuas will be fine, they make good stuff (priced accordingly).

Yeah, those Lapuas are half again to double the cost of the old Sierras and Hornadys. If I have to stick with them, they will make the gun far more expensive to shoot than my other centerfires that require store-bought jacketed bullets.

I've seen the Carcano bullets everywhere as well. They must be leftovers, from before the shortages. Hardly any demand for them. I can't imagine Hornady making .268" bullets before making .264" bullets.

Oh well, maybe what I need to do is to gin up some plinking and practice loads with 140 grain spitzers at reduced velocity to shoot to the same point of aim, and with about the same trajectory as what will ultimately be my hunting load - some form of 155 to 160 grain round nose.
