Night Vision scope

Anyone familiar with this? On sale for $300.

ATN Viper 1 Night Vision Goggles
•First Generation+
•Designed as goggles but can use as monocular
•Lightweight and compact
If you're looking for a night vision goggle that's effective, but relatively inexpensive to own, check out the ATN Viper. It is designed primarily as a goggle system for hands-free operation, but it can also be used as a compact monocular or attached to a camera for night time photography. The Viper is a high-resolution 1st Gen.+ night vision unit that comes with a coated 35mm F1.0 glass lens capable of 1x magnification, and the option of being 4x or 8x.

I've never used Gen 1 night vision... When i first joined the military we had Gen 2's, the picture was alright but was a bit grainy. Depending on ambient lighting was how bad the graininess was... the less light the more grainy. Depth perception was crappy. you could either have close or far. Just had to twist the lens at the end to change the perception. I expect the Gen 1's to be a fair bit worse than the Gen 2's. But for 270-300. I'd probably jump on it..
