Seems Apple switched to this new version of Apple TV back in Oct. The older one has connections that would work for me and my set up. Likely I'll end up sending this one back once I receive it and hopefully they'll have a stash of the original units. My TV is not that old...five years, maybe, but has no HDMI... Buying all the converters needed seems an invitation to more problems.
Edit: Did a live chat...they don't have any of the old ones. Tons of them on ebay though...all used of course. Apple really screwed themselves out of a lot of business by doing this. I'm betting a lot of people have TV's w/o the HDMI connection. Original version will not do streaming from Netflix... |

I did look at those online. Cnet had an article on them and said they DO NOT work and not to buy them. Look at Amazon's buyer rating....one star. I don't know if HDMI to DVI will work or not though. I would also need to convert optical audio to RCA |
