Not so sure I'd be too nonchalant if it were my daughter involved, in fact I know I would not.
You are assuming it's targeting your daughter and you are most likely correct but you can't be 100% certain. My goal would be to find out who did it, (could be girls for all you know), if it were a boy/boys I would sit them down and have a heart to heart about the differences in how a real man behaves vs a boy/child. One of my favorite Robert Duvall scenes, Roberts roles always remind me of my own father. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gkccqolaVGg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Quick! Call a Lawyer!! (it's what Democrats do- they love grievances) Seriously, it's the last thing we need to promote in this country are more problems, police reports and lawsuits. rjp |

all I'm sayin is there is no real damage done. Save it for something that can stick.
Also- what happens if the kid who did this actually is a pretty good kid just being dumb? Ya want to put something on him for his future? rjp |
OK ask your daughter what she thinks of this kid and go accordingly. If he's an azzhole then ya, file it. If he's otherwise a good kid who goes to church then let it roll.
|
Take a photo, file it.
Boys will be boys. You can always send the message back to them via your daughter that YOU (not she) was the one inconvenienced and irritated by it. Playing a prank on a girl is one thing but you want to be a little cautious "just in case" it's something more than a harmless prank - no way to know. It probably is just boys messing with her, but maybe not... Even so they need to realize that YOU were the victim of their prank, not her - and that you (an adult) don't appreciate it. I'm sure whoever did it will rib her for it at school or wherever and using her as the grapevine to convey the message "my dad was PISSED at you guys!" might make them think "gee, maybe that wasn't such a great idea" next time. |
I still want to see the photos!

My daughter plays in sports and each player has a lawnsign with their jersey number. The lawn sign was pulled out of the frozen ground and tossed into the middle of the yard, about a foot and a half of snow.....
My garage door has vinylish cover..... could the boy/girl who did this be smart enough to use chalk or just plain lucky..... I will post pic later tonight for those interested.... |

Kinda like those, "My kid is better than yours" bumper stickers... |
Growing up was more fun 40 years ago, the risk of getting caught was part of the fun and developing a reputation.

True, and the consequences generally equalled the severity of the 'crime'.
Now everyone thinks they should be protected from any and all unpleasentness.... |
I would save the pictures and not worry about it. It isn't always good to call the cops. They'll patrol the neighborhood and before you know it you'll be the one with a ticket for something you do, i.e. breaking in your new engine's cams at 11pm or mowing the lawn with a cold beer in hand.
I would only file a report for property damage. G |
