Great, thanks.
Funny how we have NOT decisively won a tough conflict ( absolutely no disrespect meant towards our vets) since the adoption of the M-16 platform. What is interesting is that they have kept Ma Deuce which is coming up on it's 100th birthday.... |
oh please dont get me started on this m-16 crap. after hearing recently the DoD having to redesign the m-16 .223 round to "YAW" on purpose to create a bigger wound channel to stop opiated insurgents...................i about fell over LMFAO!
roughly 1964 was end of production for M-14's and the faze in of the mattel-16, for combat ken and barbie. get on the M-14 forum and spout off that you love yer m-16..............well they will flat out just pummel you repeatedly upon the head and shoulder area until YER PULP! if inducted into military service in the time of war, i would rather be placed in levenworth than carry a POS m-16/m-4. my buddy after years of dicking around with the (5) he has, is finally starting to come around to the idea of selling some if not all after shooting his FN, his M-1 garand, and my (3) M1-A's HK's. too many headaches, too many jams, too many 1/2 azzd machine shops making subpar POS ill-fitting parts , stoopid YAWING bullets etc. and of course the grunts worst nightmare............no stopping power! he even admits that his ak-47 is a BETTER ROUND / BETTER GUN and up til sunday he literally shot that damn thing for 10yrs straight and NEVER CLEANED IT.........and finally it went click. crap if ya can get thru a 3 hr shooting session with an m-16 without a failure..................its a miracle! just invision a US military with issued uncle sam M1-A SOCOMS! the world would be a better place and there would be less badguys! |

Have you guys had any success and improvement with glass bedding the M1A? I have a really nice DoD stock with very nice cartouche marks on it that I have mounted. As a result I have the factory stock that it came with and am considering glass bedding that one. Thoughts?

ok as far as bedding. it aint cheap......................butt it is VERY EFFECTIVE and WORTH EVERY PENNY if seeking the elusive "dead-on" X!
all USMC/USArmy/navy/coastguard/airforce sniper weapons ARE BEDDED! my super duper match from hell is bedded, as well as my m-40-a1. but as always one thang leads to another.................if bedded , under PENALTY OF DEATH you DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE THE ACTION EVER unless FORCED TO! sooo... with that in mind YOU want to get every last damn part YOU EVER want to put in the spoon, before bedding. once bedded...............well you better have a major malfunction before removing action from stock. when cleaning turn spoon upside down. why? so all the crap ya swab down along with bore cleaner DOES NOT GO INTO ACTION and BEDDED STOCK> very bad ju ju and it will degrade yer stock/bedding. i think phil arrington gets $175-225 for a bedding job. so do want dead nutz bragging rights write yer name on the zombeez/bad guys fore head? or ease of removing action to maintain................that is the question. my m-1 carbine, the socom, the "loaded" all are a cinch to remove from stock and tear apart. my rear lugged super duper match................it aint happening unless phil arrington says it has to. EVER! nor on my m-40-a1. why because i can write my name with fed 168gr BTHP on zombeez forehead! both are SO ACCURATE that i have made money betting people i can knock the "B" out of a bud can at distance! name the distance. they really are wayyyy betterer than me as a shooter! a semi auto is a whole different bread of kat in comparison to a bolt action to accurize. semis are a giant PITA to accurizze vs a bolt. example: HK-91/G-3 accuracy pretty damn good. to make better, the silly krauts had to up the ante and create the PSG-1 $$$ 12,000 precision ge schutzen to obtain sub MOA accuracy. |
