OK so I'm not the only one...

Do they also do jousting at the archery club?

Trouble is, with such a heady mix of vexation, archery,
& group chain saw husbandry

all I can think about is that banjo scene

This is why I don't do clubs. They attract characters like that. You almost need them to run a club. Someone reasonable doesn't want to spend the weekend cutting trees at the club ...

Seems like the proverbial "bringing a chainsaw to an arrow fight" situation.

If I don't like someone, they definitely know it as I am not nice to them. My mom just got out of the hospital today and at my parents house, my sister shows up with her new boyfriend. My mom already told me about him and that she and my dad don't care for him. Poor guy didn't stand a chance. He was nervous when he walked in. My sister must have warned him about me. It only took 5 minutes to decide I didn't like him. At 6 minutes, I had him pissed at me and he and my sister left. Her ex husband got in my face once during thanksgiving dinner and I knocked him out cold without getting up from the chair. This new boyfriend of hers is well on his way to spitting chiclets but I doubt I will ever see him again.

So now you've got me curious. What was it about the new BF that inspired instant and overwhelming hatred?

Here's my stepdad w/ his beloved chainsaw:

This guy grew up on a tree farm and was cutting wood before chainsaws were around. Still going strong @ 80 y.o. :cool:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1298227904.jpg

I'm missing something here
How does archery relate to chainsaws?

You're not the only one.

My sister has a sad history of finding losers. Her 1st. husband, the one I knocked out, was a pot head that couldn't keep a job. He hit my sister on occasion and when I talked to her about it, she told me it was none of by business. It became my business on thanksgiving when he and my sister started arguing and I told them to shut up. This was a typical little guy with a big mouth who considered himself a badass. He comes over and gets in my face and asks what I'm going to do about it. I punched him in the throat and swept his feet from under him. My sister's 2nd husband was an alchoholic who used to push her around. Again it's none of my business. He got out clean. This new boyfriend comes into the house like he owns the place. My mom had just come home from the hospital and I helped her up so she could go to the bathroom. My sister's boyfriend sits in the chair my mom was sitting in when my mom comes back to the chair, he lets out a big sigh before he gets up. Like he doesn't want to give the chair up. I asked him if he could just get out of the chair without being a drama queen. I guess my sister read the look on my face because she spoke up and said they better be going. This guy talked my sister into buying him a new chevy tahoe because he can't get one on his own. The kicker is the truck he had before got repo'd because he wasn't making the payments to his ex-girlfriend who had the truck in her name. My sister has only known this guy for 1 month. He moved into her house and made her get rid of her dog because his dog didn't get along with it. I am an easygoing, quiet person who is nice to people but I do not let people take advantage of me. It's always the little loud mouth guys that cause me trouble because they want to prove they are tough. I don't consider myself tough. I have been in 2 fights in my life but at 6'5" and 220# intimidation works in my favor of avoiding confrontation. If I don't like somebody, it's hard for me to pretend that I do. I don't suffer fools easily.

Well, that's a perfectly reasonable explanation. I'd have done the same. Hard to believe that anyone could be that badly behaved, I know ex-cons who would be more presentable to the parents, etc...
