car audio question
Hi.
I want to remove my radio in my 911 and just put a delete plate, mainly because the radio I have clash with the rest of the interior. however, I would like to be able to listen to my MP3 player. what device could I buy, that I could plug the output of my MP3 player, and would distribute the music to my existing car speakers? it be better if it would be a small thing I could hide somewhere... any Ideas /recommendations ? |

you need a way to amplify the headphone output to drive speaker level output.
You can always wire in a small amplifier under the seat and run a Male RCA to 3.5MM stereo male to the glovebox, and use the ignition to turn on the amplifier. It's a messy setup easier to buy a radio with an 3.5 MM input. rjp

no he wants to eliminate the unsightly radio all together......
"no he wants to eliminate the unsightly radio" LOL a small amp is your best bet, you can get a volume knob which has rca input/output to control the volume if you need it, chances are you'll have some grounding issues/noise which will require some fiddling with to eliminate....but totally doable and simple. i ran a similar setup but was pretty elaborate.....i used a sirius tuner into an rca line driver, a knob.....trunk mount eq....multiple amps etc when i had my 911.....
