Rex Ramsey Connection
For anyone else looking for that great race car driver, Rex Ramsey, I happen to have a direct line to him. Got any new races to run?

Rex Ramsey is still around. Rex lives on a 99 acre ranch outside of Willits.
I met Rex at the Russell Racing School in 1998. I worked with Rex, and School Owner Jacques Couture. Jacques taught Gilles Villeneuve how to race. Rex won the 1968 Grand Prix of Canada in a F5000 car. Rex built his own Sports Prototype racecar. He even poured his own wheels. Rex lived next door to me in Sonoma for a while in 2011. Last time I saw Rex was in the Grocery Outlet in Willits in the Summer of 2021. |
I have some very sad news about my dear friend Rex. He passed away this past Saturday, August 13th at 5pm in Ukiah California. Yes, he lived in Willits. I assume Ukiah is where the hospital is located. I'm still getting information from his family as it becomes available. No word yet on a funeral or service for him yet.

It's kind of shocking when it's a good friend, and Rex was a good friend to me. RIP Legendary Rex Ramsey |
I never cared for Spam....but four for one is hard to pass up.:D

I was on that pit crew (of 3 total) when Rex won that race. It was in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.
He was the real deal and an SCCA champion in A Production (Corvette) before going to F5000 in a LeGrand. One of 2 made. I did the electrical on that car. |

^^^^ My apologies to you Tony, Milt, and others. I have deleted my explanation, but will leave this post for Tony to see if he hasn't yet. Now returning this thread to what it was intended for.... A tribute to a racer.
RIP Rex Ramsey. |
