Viewing PNG image file on a Macbook pro
Someone emailed me a .png image, my macbook and iphone both won't view it.... Anybody got any ideas?
|
Standard image format these days.... Maybe you should buy a PC.
|
I was going to suggest that to him Dave, but I decided that would be rude...get a PC man.
|
Look on the web there are plug-ins for this. It's just new that's all, no need to get a Piece of Crap.
I'm on your side Sidney!! |
Eh, png's have been around for years now. Even native in the iPhone.
|
Safari should open them, Apple Preview....
|
PNG 's show up just fine in iPhones or Macs by default.
Either single-click on it to select it and hit spacebar (to do a quick preview, spacebar again to close quick preview) or double click it to open it i preview (should be the default app to open it). Or right-click on it to open it with another app, like a browser or something. If that doesn't work, then I'd say that there's something wrong with the file. |
Came in on gmail, Nothing on either device will open it...
Oh well, they were sent to me in another format now... now worries... |
For me:
Save it to the desktop or wherever, and go to it and click once and go "command-I" to get info, and there's a drop-down thingy where i says "open with" and select Preview. Open in preview and you can 'save as' some other format if you want. |
Did they save it out at 72DPI?
|
Wouldn't open in preview... I'm thinking the file must have been corrupt...

Yeah, I don't have a prob with .png so maybe the file is bad.
|
Please don't blame PC's. They can be mangled on Macs as well.
