I can't even imagine co-ed sleepovers. I had my hands full always trying to sneak around my folks and my GF's folks in high school. The only clean chance we got was prom weekend. We got a three day weekend for that at my prep school and it wasn't too far to the NJ shore. A buddy's parents gave us their beach house for the weekend and we had a co-ed sleepover. But my folks would have never allowed it and they didn't know about it. |

Anyway both guys were smart respectful young adults and there was no hanky panky... at least not when the adults were around ;) |

We did it back in the day, fundamentally though it was different than what was orignially described. It wasn't an event in and of itself, we simply ended up crashing at one of a couple of our houses after being out partying on a weekend night. Guys and girls, some dating, some not. We all knew the score, if we messed around and created a bad situation (i.e. orgy in the pool room, or drunken destruction of someones basement...) we knew it would never happen again, game over. Similarly, we all would check in with our folks when we landed at whatever hour and let them know who's house we were at. We all kept each other in line. What we had been granted by default was important enough to us to keep us responsible.
There was fooling around, but frankly that was gonna happen regardless. I still treasure those friends to this day, we kept each other out trouble, collectively learned a lot about respect and responsibility. This stuff with lingerie is friggin ridiculous. |
Well, heck. When I saw this thread I though, "Yeah! Where do I sign up?" Crap.

I know damn well what teenagers do, but I'm not going to make it easy for them. At least the little bastards will have to be a little bit creative with their lies to get away with it. |
A teenage boy who doesn't get laid at a coed sleepover has no game at all.

We never had these when I was in HS.... I would have gladly gone though.....;)
My Ex slept over a few times after I graduated HS, and she was already in College... The world goes on.... |
No I would not let a group of boys and girls sleep at my home. My wife and I don't have orgies, why would we promote that with our child?
My wife and I will teach our daughter about sexuality, and when the time comes she's getting birth control. We will leave the when up to her, but were going to give her the information she needs first, and that will include a strong admonition against treating sex lightly. Could she have a boyfriend stay over? If she was dating a kid long term, and he seemed like a good kid, and we knew the family.......maybe. I was allowed to have girlfriends spend the night when I was 16, and my sister was also allowed to have boys spend the night when she was 16. I honestly don't think any harm came from it. It actually felt nice to have my parents trust me to do the right thing. And I did the right thing. As hard as I could, and for as long as I could :D |
I remember one night, Room Monkey # 1 (in his infamous rebellious pre-RM teenage phase) had 6 cute Asian girls (including his then girlfriend) sleepover in his room after some concert or event. Quite funny to see them wander down in their party dresses in the morning. :D This was during our 'just keep him in school' war that lasted from 13 - 19 years old. At that time, some things just weren't worth battling over.

I have a herd of young and very young nieces and nephews across Long Island so i get info second hand from my bride's pow wows with her sisters
on Long Island it seems there is what is called rainbow parties after school is out for the day. At rainbow parties the female kids wear different colored lipsticks. The winner of the game is the guy whose dong has the most colors. my in-laws blame Bill Clinton for making it somewhat socially acceptable |

I simply don't believe the rainbow party bs. The only place I've ever even heard a whisper of this thing is on the Internet or in the media. No one I know has ever heard about anything like it real life. I'm not saying nothing like it has ever happened, but the way it's talked about one would think it happens every Saturday night for most high-schoolers.
All the crazy hook ups you can think of and more can, did, and will continue to happen. And these sanctioned coed sleepovers won't be the venue. I'm sure that the vast majority of all of your kids have been involved whether you realize it or not. Parents with teena from ages 15-19, just wait a few years. When they hit age 22-23 you will start hearing stories about the things that got by you a few years back. |

ever hear about those rainbow rings some girls wear. They're the string type that has those small plastic barrels on them? |

Just because kids doing a sleep over start off in seperate bedrooms (whether Jr High, High School, or even college) doesn't mean that there still aren't foot steps in the middle of the night.............
At least with cell phones and video cams, we can get video on the web very easily now! Just like in American Pie, with all the guys next door and the Europe gal is reading his "shaved" magazine in his bedroom.......... GirlsGoneWild.com, home to the HOTTEST Girls in America! |
