Any military memorabilia collectors here? Ever seen these?
A friend found these at a thrift store and thought my 10 year old would like them as she's interested in animals & bugs. Looking more closely I wonder if they might be worth something. Yeah, I know it wouldn't be a lot, but as I can only find minimal reference to them on the interweb, I thought they might be fairly rare.
These are wildlife recognition cards with pictures of the wildlife of northeast Africa & Mid-East. They're labeled "Device 9H18" and say "Produced in 1972 for DCNO by the Naval Training Equipment Center, Orlando, FL." I think the most interesting thing is that the cards give info on whether each specimen is edible... and how to prepare it. "All termites are edible raw, boiled, or roasted." Grasshoppers: "Legs and wings should be removed before roasting or boiling." ![]() ![]()

Yeah, I have the South East Asia one around where somewhere. Got it in the Land Survival portion of Navy Aircrew School, IIRC. Although it could have been at SERE.
