ASUS Laptop Wireless ist Kaput?

A couple nights ago I was using my ASUS K501J laptop and was on the internets. The screen flashed a couple times and then I lost my internet connection. Since then, the laptop has been unable to detect any wireless networks. Is it just the wireless card gone bad or is there something else I can try?

On my ASUS laptop, my wifi card died. I bought a pc-express wifi card. All was good.
Then my mobo died. All of this while under warranty.
They replaced it all, and i am good again.

Can you go to your hardware manager? I do not know what OS you are using, but if you can go to something like my computer, and then to a hardware manager, you can see if your computer recogizes that it has a wireless card. If this card is not recognized, you can try to install it manually (through install hardware/software) and then reboot. You may need to install drivers again.

Is there a switch somewhere to turn the wifi "radio" on or off.

The same thing happened recently on my old dell and I thought it was hardware failure. Turns out that you can turn the "radio" off using a combination of keystrokes (Fn key + F3 key, for example). I had inadvertently pressed the keys in that sequence and shut off the WIFI.

Ah HA! I figured it out (with some help from the internet).

Apparently not only is there a switch for the WiFi, BUT if you happen to be silly enough to double click the little wireless icon that comes on the screen when you push the WiFi button, it turns off the WiFi and you can't turn it back on again unless you press the WiFi button and then double click that little icon again.

Wierd.

Thanks guys
