New World Order?
I just got this from our sweater manufacturer in India:
"Dear Shaun,I just landed back in india from china and factories are facing a huge labour shortage just now. Only 20% of the work is back to work.Factories have hiked salaries by 10% as of yesterday.Factories are going to face shipment delays.Hope your production in china is safe.Regards,Zahir"
Meanwhile, the Indian government shut down virtually every dye house in Tirupur earlier in the month because houses refused to stop dumping raw effluent into the river for the past year. This time last year, there was a region-wide strike by dye houses given the new environmental regulations. Tirupur is the knit capital of India. You want a t-shirt made, it's done in Tirupur.
Anyone else seeing serious oversees manufacturing upheaval?
