The new Z3 is finally home
Just got it back from Bill Brewsters shop where they did some clean up work, gaskets, hoses, brakes etc. Took some pictures before the Global Warming starts again this afternoon, supposed to get a bunch of it tonight and tomorrow.
It looks big next to the Vanagon-for sale- but an optical thing. I like it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1298067191.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1298067220.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1298067250.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1298067267.jpg |
I always loved those things. Enjoy it.
|
Nice, any mods or is it stock?
I apologize for mocking you when you first posted pics ot the cars arrival... jealousy is such an ugly emotion. Afterward I did an Internet search was surprised to find that if I save a few bucks maybe in a few years I could afford one myself. Enjoy it in good health! |
Gorgeous! One of my all-time favorites!
|
mmmm red.
|
Nice car But i will forever think of them as clown shoes. Sorry. :)
|
love it.

I didn't take offense at all, I have really have been mocked here. This 2001 is less expensive than a 2001 Porsche. Not as fast, but quirky, I like them. About 230hp and about 3000lbs. This now has what could be considered in Porsche terms a re seal of the engine. Every gasket, hose, belt, line, etc now is new and the car has 62k miles. It started raining, but you know that, so I put it away. I have only driven it 25 miles. I hope it works good for a couple years. Buy my van. |

Very nice. Congrats!!

We, Brewsters, put Swepco in the Trans and it shifts better now, I think it shifts better than the G50 in my Targa did and I liked it, this is smoother and easier. Still tight getting into reverse and sluggish 1st to 2nd when cold. Oh, 12 years newer. It does feel different than the Porsche in corners, I will have to get used to it. But it does feel faster, quicker. It just isn't a Porsche. and I knew it wasn't. I put 120 miles on it today and liked it, just getting used to it.
|
Nice car. I've always liked the Z3 coupe. Drove around Streets of Willow with one. Very capable track cars if the need arises. :)
|
One of my favorite BMWs, well done.
|
Cool car!
I like "The Shoe". |
Reeaally Nice! Congrats!
Karl 88 Targa |
Actually, we used to call it The Clown Shoe. I had two friends with Estoril Blue M Coupes back in the day. Decent driving car, with some engineering details unfinished (like it would get so hot behind the dash that the radio would turn itself off).
|
I hardly ever listened to the radio in the Porsche but this exhaust is so quiet I found myself playing with all the stations yesterday. I hope they fixed that flaw before they made mine.
|
I like them.

A couple shots today overlooking the harbor.

What's the sticker to the left of the rear wiper?
BTW, the temp plate goes on the rear plate bracket :p Looking good!! |

It's pretty easy to find out if those vanity plates are available. Just go to the DMV website, type a plate in as if you're ordering it, and it'll tell you if it's available or not.
|
Yeah, I did that with the Porsche, 89 615 for the year and last three digits of the VIN. People asked me if that was for HP. Yeah, sure.
Just haven't cared enough to look it up yet. |
That's a handsome car!
when are you putting 22's on it?? ;) |
