There are some others posts here. Do a search. I've heard that it's not that hard. I've also heard that the problem is that if it's harvested prematurely, then it's too soft. It seems to be "in" and fits in with the current green thing these days. I'd like to have some, but it seems you have to get just the right stuff or it won't hold up.
Also, hardwood can be refinished, but I don't think bamboo can.

3/4 of my house flooring was Bamboo
It's a laminate so you scratch it you are over and done with. My 87 LB Poodle did a nice job scratching the stuff too running around. If you are typically careful and dont need to worry about abuse since you have no kids and stuff it's great for the $$$$. rjp

Yeah, you don't want laminate. There is solid bamboo flooring out there so the scratching would be less of an issue
