Relax, Ed. Guy probably put the question in the wrong forum. Or maybe it's a jacket with little 911s all over it.

FWIW my leather jackets have some sort of polyester-type mesh lining (looks like a practice football jersey/pinney) or a satiny polyester snap-out liner for colder weather use.

Or not...it seems that people press the issue from time to time.

I thought it's normal fabric, but how can you replace it?
Another thought, do you mean your leather jacket jacket, or do you know some part in the 911 called a jacket?

Fiberglass house insulation would work well.

depends if it's a $200 or a $800 jacket

if the $200 ask around for a good tailor that builds pants

if the $800 ask around for a good tailor that builds full suits without gluing in the jacket inner canvas and uses bone buttons instead of plastic

just my take

When I relined the jacket I use to keep my SC toasty on those cool PA nights, I went with a soft satin liner (much easier on the paint than burlap... but I suppose shearling would be good too). You also want to make sure that the zipper is nylon, as metal ones will really mess with your paint job in a hurry. (Ask me how I know).

Mine was/is satin. Had the tattered original liner replaced by seamstress.

Don't use pink and white stripes.

hah!

My cleaners had a guy they sent me to, little old Italian tailor, dead now, but he used to make suits for Willie Brown, snappy dresser, scumbag politico

Had a full length leather coat refurbished recently, sent it to an outfit in Kansas City if I remember right, was not cheap, but I would have a tough time finding a coat like that if I wanted a new one. Both times they used some sort of rayon material I think, acetate maybe, I don't know. It is not all diamond stitched like the one Shaun showed us

A good tailor can do it. I had the satin lining replaced in a couple of my leather jackets. Sure makes them look nice again.
