Once upon a time
Once upon a time, long ago and far away I owned and later foolishly sold a Sunbeam Tiger MkII. It was a 289, one of only 536 made that year, I believe 1967, I have a bit of history and only a couple of pictures, but no VIN number. It was Orchid Green (baby poop) with black and white (below the doors) stripes. I sold it about 1972 to a Reverand Paul Grassi who later moved to Ontario, Canada. I would love to find out if it still exists, hopefully with a Pelican. It no doubt survives somewhere as I doubt it was junked. The weren't many Orchid green and very few 289's. Rootes Motor Group owned the rights to the car in it's last year I believe. A lot of things, like old desireable cars, end up in California. Maybe someone knows someone who knows someone etc., etc. I hope someone somewhere is enjoying it. I wish I still had it. Paid $2900 and sold it for $1400, a lot back then. Thanks for giving it some thought.

Here's hoping you are reunited with the car. . . did it look like this?

Always loved them! Great cars!

I`ll pass this on to a good friend of mine - I`m helping him restore a Tiger right now and he`s connected to pretty much everyone in Ontario that`s Tiger related. Can you PM me anything else about the car - VIN would help.

Tiger
yes 304065 it did look just like that, except the color was baby poopish yellow/green and had a 5 point star (chrysler) badge just below stripes on fr fender. Same grill, egg crate, but had hub caps instead of mini-lites.

Thanks lgb240 for your help but I don't have the VIN. It probably was in eastern canada until about '75. I to hear from you. I some interesting stories for the present owner if I ever find him.

I had a green '67 Alpine that I paid $450 for. I really wanted a Tiger, but at the time (1975) a Tiger was going for $4,000!! That might as well have been $400k to a kid in high school.

I understand completely. I bought my DB4 in 1971 for $1,750 and sold it three years ago for $250,000. I miss it, but it was a huge part of my net worth, and way under insured. I only drove it because it needed to be driven.

Nice Aston

That little thing (Tiger) with a 289 would be fun to drive. You can steer it with the gas pedal, I bet.
