Help with Microsoft "Paint"

Guys:

I keep a collection of photos on my previous 911. I used some of these to help illustrate a point to make in some discussion threads, by copying and making a "shortcut" of the photos I used, and then applied Microsoft "paint" to add arrows and such to the shortcut photos. Duh..... should have copied and renamed the photos. Now my archived files of these same photos shows all the "arrows" I used in the "shortcut" version.

Question....is there a way to "undo" the paint marks made for my archived set? I see an eraser function on my toolbar but all that does is "Add" a common background color. Is there an "undo" function ??

...

If you saved the files I think you are out of luck. The arrows would have to be on a seperate layer to delete them.

Undo only works if the file was not saved and closed.

Some apps even delete the Undo state on save and before closing.

Sorry but think you're SOL.

Thanks.... :( ..... if I *really* thought about what I was doing, it would have become "clear" to me...see "DUH" above......

Whenever I am going to edit a lot of photos in a folder, I make a copy of that folder called "original" or "raw", or the like.

Then I'm good.

What operating system?

If it's Vista or Win7, right click on the pic and choose "Restore Previous Versions". It will look throughout your restore points, and find it if it is there.

"Save As" is always a good choice when editing photos

Wil,
Were you able to recover the pics?

john70t 03-01-2011 03:44 PM

There might be some drive recovery programs for Win7 that can be used to recover data that's been "erased"...but not over-written.

I once used a free program with Win95, and recovered quite a bit of what was lost.
The pic of Hoover in a dress remained gone though;)

What about the pics of Cam Newton accepting cash from MSU?

Wil, if you post one of the pics here I might be able to remove some of the markings in my free time. I'm always up for a new challenge . . . removed my wife's first husband from her sister's wedding pics and no one can even tell.

If all else fails, Photoshop(and other programs) have been around for a while.
