Porsche 2011 Financials - Strong ...here's a major reason why.
I had the opportunity to attend the Porsche tech seminars last sssSunday @Porsche's Easton Pa Distribution/Tech Center. Dr Walliser,Engineering Dir., Porsche Ag. gave us a inside view of the development of the Hybird 918 on the drawing boards at Porsche AG ......After sitting thru his presentation of the concept/design/strategy and forethought that has gone into this hybird supercar project, It is no wonder that they are posting excellent sales growth today.(even in this ecomomy) Their Engineering driven focus will continue to drive their market share. As evidenced by the ground breaking development of the new 918 hybrid supercar project in the works. This vehicle will be the 21'st century equivalent of what the 959 was to the industry in the 80's.When it is unvieled in 2014 ,I would suspect other marques will be trying to incorporate it's features in their cars over the next decade and beyond. The obstacles and design challenges that they are working on to solve today in this vehicle will stun the industry when it's finished. It's like listening to a concept car discussion, yet, it's in development today! Whats this have to do with Porsche's financials.....everything. The company's Ultra engineering driven vision and philosophy is legendary ,but it is staggering once you sit thru a presentation by Dr Walliser. This guy may be at the helm in years to come. Weather you like the idea of a hybird vehicle or not ,the fact of the matter really is energy, use of materials and automive design. While Porsche's efforts to address energy consumption/hybrid design are real, you can bet Porsche will remain true to form to produce cutting edge, engineering marvel in Hybird technology, that will make your jaw drop. I am still trying to assimilate the whole day!!Fascinating stuff, even to an old aircooled guy.
