Snap-On flashlight

Just picked this up, its a flashlight, am/fm, weather radio, siren, port for cell phone charger and never needs batteries. Hand crank for 1 min give 30 min of light its pretty cool. I have no idea why I bought it but it was cheap and what the heck! Crank is not really that easy after 1 min in fact my hand has not been so tired since I was 17

Thats pretty neat. I'm sure it will come in handy eventually and you'll be glad you got it!

The flashlight or the additional hand strength?:p

That would take a lot of cranking to charge a cell phone! Did you get it from a Snap On dealer?

cgarr 03-01-2011 11:47 AM

I got it from production tool supply, its was on sale, that means no one is buying them! I guess the phone charger would be if you ditched your car and your battery was dead, both car and phone and you had to charge it just to make that one emergency call, if you remembered your car charger cord?

The radio actually works pretty good, I can get Beck, Rush and Hannity!

I had to wonder.. seeing it's apparently plastic made me look further. An example of brand corruption or just a knock off? It also looks like it isn't sold in the catalog but just by places like PTS, Amazon, Ace etc.

I did see this review:
snapon is a life time tool company and i own many so why did they place a one year warrty on this,it because its not made by them its made in china by a 3rd party,if you want a flashlight that will last one year or less buy it,will say this one last time its pure junk

Someone brought in a cheapo leatherman type tool with the Snap-On logo. It screamed chinese made. Don't imagine it came off one of their trucks.

Snap On is offering their name for sale - and it's being put on some third rate products - such as the flashlight above. Same thing with the electric light cord reel that sells at Costco for about $30 that is also labeled Snap On.

Pretty damn cool light. Ignore the jokes about it being a marital aid.

The wife is getting a bit worried. I have my dried food stock, my seed bank, wait til I start digging my bunker in the back yard!

That's a shame. I luv Snap On tools and I've spent a small fortune buying them locally.
I also have a small collection of US made Starrett measuring tools.

My treasured torque wrenches. My kids will get these once I'm gone. ;)

I remember tracking down a Snap On truck to buy a particular socket that was very specialized. As I was waiting for the driver to finish up with a lady customer I heard her tell him "Do NOT ever sell my husband any tool on credit EVER again or you will just not get paid do you understand me? You will not get paid" "That is because I will kill him and then I will be in jail and no one will be able to pay you!"

I just got rebuild kits for three of my Snapon ratchets, all FAR series drives. All three kits have "made in china" on them. Kind of bummed about it actually.

Snap-on & cheap, not usually heard together.

My really old ones have "Made in Canada" on them.
I don't know why, but the just "feel" better in the hand than the newer ones.
