Quote of the Day

"Fathom the hypocrisy of a Congress that requires every citizen to prove they are insured.....but not everyone must prove they are citizens".

What a stupid quote. You want that the government issues us national ID cards and requires us to produce our "papers" upon demand by the local Stasi whenever it suits their pleasure?

And off to PARF this will go, where it belongs.

Zhow me da Zour Paperz!?!

Actually with the digital age and what not just a scan of a cheek swab should be enough for now and forever.

a little help.

MRM, wow!

Perhaps this is a spill-over from another post or another time, but I do not believe GH is trying to say, or a proponent of us needing to have some sort of government ID card which can be presented upon request. In fact it would appear just the opposite. No?

Is such political? Yes, it is. By definition, because the statement deals with how "authority" or "power" interact with the masses it qualifies.

Will it go PARF? It will just as soon as honest discussion quickly evolves into sides forming, lines drawn, and keyboard bashing is unleashed. :)

You missed the point, MRM.
The issue is more "You want that the government issues us national Insurance cards and requires us to produce our "papers" upon demand by the IRS whenever it suits their pleasure?"

sammyg2 03-02-2011 05:45 AM

The point is, the priorities of our current leaders are seriously screwed up.

VINMAN 03-02-2011 05:52 AM

Sammy nailed it! End of discussion...

Direct crack at Mr Obama, as I see it. I am for universal health care, but not as it is presented, and not as a first priority in this economy. Half the effing bridges within ten miles of my home are shut down and condemned, with no schedule for repairs.

Pandora's box was opened. Now what ?

Quote from TV series "Yes Minister".

Frank: "Won’t the other EEC countries object to carry identity papers too?"

Sir Humphrey: "No – the Germans will love it, the French will ignore it and the Italians and the Irish will be too chaotic to enforce it. Only the British will resent it."

Leaders? What Leaders, this is the root of everything.
