Freshwater crab has gone on a walkabout
Last seen 9 hours ago in the aquarium. Looked all over. Nothing. It has a full belly so how long can it go without taking the dirt (carpet?) nap? Any ideas for baiting such a thing? Can you bait a crab on the lam? Saucers of water??

We had a African clawed frog leave the tank while we were on vacation once.
Never found a trace of it, figured we would find it dried up somewhere, no dice. Pretty sure the Yellow lab ate it like a taco chip. We'll never know !

Guess it's better than having a poisonous snake on the loose.

Lets do the CrUsTaCeAn KrawL.
This has happened to me before too. From the little thumb hole used to lift the lid. Lets just say you MIGHT find a skeleton one day but unless you found him directly outside the tank its unlikely you'll find the entire crustacean.

In college, my first roommate had little freshwater crabs and fish in an aquarium. Some of them figured out how to climb the filter, push up the lid, and jump. Several died jumping from the desk to the floor. One morning, on the way to the shower, I found one in the hallway three doors down.
He also used to introduce himself to women like this: "Hi, my name is Josh, and I have crabs."
