Any flying Lizards fans here ? Sebring and other woes
I've been a fan for years, I raid their online store every change I get, I go see them run every year here or there, even got to talk to Pat Long a few years back in St Pete (nice guy), I like that team, the drivers, the clever strategy...
That said, I think they are in for a really *long* season this year... The F430 that seemed to be faster in pure pace last year (but quite often did not finish), still is. The BMW GTR appears to have the top speed over them too, by quite a margin. And let's not mention the F458 when it's finally debugged, or the Corvettes who also show promise... I could be wrong but I think the GT3-RSR's dominating days are over. It does not seem like a big leap from last year's model, in fact I don't see them winning a single race this year, from whatI saw at Sebring. The Lizards were way back in qualifying, and even without Pat Long's small accident, I don't see how they'd have finished much higher. The "second" car is also generally too far back to help with team points either, seems kinda wasteful but i imagine it's the team owner's right to have some fun too (I'd do the same)... I hope I'm wrong... Maybe on shorter "handling" tracks they got a shot, but it looks like BMW/Ferrari are ahead ! |
