I think you're being a bit paranoid. You're doing the right things. I have a couple of low credit limit cards which I use if I'm concerned. Make sure you never use a debit card as a credit card, since the same protections aren't there.

They were for me... being able to walk into a bank and ask them to remove the fraudulent transactions and send me a new card was so much easier than playing phone tag and faxing forms back and forth with a CC company. All in all, my second case of fraud didn't take more than 20-30 minutes to deal with.

As one precaution though, I don't keep a lot of money in my debit card account.
