IE 9 - Not too shabby

It runs significantly faster than IE8 on my Tablet. It seems really snappy on my Desktop. I like it, so far.

thx

but how often is the speed a browser, not a server or connection issue?

As it turns out, quite a bit. Try the difference between IE8x32 and IE8x64. The 64 is much slower.

I put it in for a couple of days on my desktop Vista home premium with 3.2 processor and uninstalled the upgrade.

Now I find out the reason for my crashes was the Adobe Reader 10.2. It has faults and causes the stoppage and crashes. Fix will come next week.

Once Adobe is fixed I'll try again.

Hmmmm. Not having problems but I use a full version of Adobe Acrobat 9.

RWebb 03-15-2011 07:24 PM

ok, I'll try it (when I get around to it). My bet is that FireFox one ups them before then, tho...

Alas, IE 9 is not compatible with XP and a recent article on IE 9 indicated that 55% of Windows users are still on XP. I will upgrade to Windows 7 (and suspect most other XP users will also upgrade) when the current PC dies and it is time to get a new PC.

Unless their next os release doesn't look so awful and make tasks and menus much more difficult to find then they can pry xp from my cold lifeless hands.

It's a shame ie 9 won't be available on xp
