Why are they called spoons
I see people call guns spoons. Why is this? I have just call it my 45.
Mine's bigger than yours.
first rule of spoons....don't talk about spoons. second rule of spoons....don't talk about spoons.
Someone decided that the FBI webcrawlers would pass over "spoons."
"tabs" here is a spoon collector and he also collects guns, so we just started calling guns "spoons" because we're all so incredibly witty here!
You'll need to search the board for other Pelicanisms, gererator, snow tires, spoons, fluffer, black audi wagon, cratch slappin, monkey roll, to get up to speed.
I thought they are called heaters? Choppers? etc? I like spoon! My wife would let me buy a spoon!
i missed out on the snow tire thing....that one's still a mystery to me

A year or so ago, when a thread would stray from the subject of the OP, Jim Richards would post "snow tires". Eventually, it seemed that every third or fourth post would be "snow tires" which got pretty annoying (to some). Jim explained that his comment was meant to indicate a thread gone off track or a series of irrelevant posts in a thread. Jim agreed to stop posting "snow tires" to keep us more-easily-annoyed types happy. I hope that it stays moribund.

here is how it all fits together:
many Rgroppers use spoons to help Black Audi wagons out when their snow tires are ineffective unfortunately, several cooler heads killed my dream of owning a Black Audi Allroad wagon and I am left with Yet Another Boring... |
I always wanted to see the black Audi wagon image. My understanding (could be way off) is that such a car left a pile of R Gruppies miffed by photobombing a gathering's class picture. Anyone have the image?
Somewhere on the West Coast, the R Gruppe had a get together and wanted to get a picture of all the cars together. Apparently they all drove to a parking lot to line up the cars for the shoot (not to be confused with spoons) and while this was in progress, a guy in a Black Audi Wagon got into the mix and refused to move out of the picture. At least, that is how I remember reading it. There are pictures around somewhere as well.

RGruppe reserved a lot at the hotel in Monterrey for parking and it was coned off. Someone with the BAW parked in the lot overnight and left it there for the duration of the weekend. Yes, it was slap in the middle of the lot so everyone parked up and down and all around it. Tradition has it that a pic os "ducks in a row" is taken, but no row was available for that many cars. The founder and director of the RGruppe would not sanction a pic with the intruder car in the midst. Some saw this as pretentious and it became folklore as far as the RGruppe influence goes. I was there. What is annoying is the GD audio lane912 put here. |
