Any easy way to touch up hardwood floors?

Mkay I'm can afford to drop $3000 to have the floors refinished nor am I going to take a week vacation to do it myself.

Is there anything I can wipe the floors down with brighten them up a little bit and maybe cover some of the minor scuffs?

Murphy's oil soap? Liquid gold?

i'm staining a fireplace mantel, and reading a lot the Minwax literature lately.

these 2 products might help, one is a cleaner followed by topcoat:

Actually... carpet was an option.

Thanks Duncan, that is exactly what I am looking for.

Whatever you do, DO NOT use Murphy's Oil soap on the floor. The Minwax cleaner/reviver works well. Use the minimum amount of water required. Good luck!

Why not? Just wondering why, I've used it a few times.

We installed our own hardwood floor and had it finished several years ago, the guy who finished it told me not to use Murphy's on it and I researched it and it's damaging to floors. If you have the "pre-finished laminate" floors, it's not as bad, but the oil residue and the water can cause the finish to fail and the wood to swell.

Last year we had to have the floor refinished because the 1st guy didn't put enough coats of finish down and some spots were wearing and this guy also said the same thing and recommended the Minwax product.
