Rented this movie last night and I want those 2 hours of my life back. It was like a special episode of 60 minutes minus the emotional stuff. Just some Punk ass kids fighting over money.

There are only a handful of movies that are worth watching/can be called entertainment.

the soundtrack however was awesome.....long live trent reznor :)

porsche4life 03-23-2011 05:53 PM

I need to watch it.... Just b/c of the Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross score....

McLovin 03-23-2011 05:58 PM

I agree. I paid $25 (or whatever it costs these days for 2 to go to a movie) to see it because my friend insisted it was so awesome, I HAD to see it.

What a bunch of crap. And long winded, repetitive crap. We would have walked out 3/4 of the way through, if I weren't so cheap.

Really? I was completely disappointed with the music, especially after knowing it won the oscar! Really, it was just background supporting music - I didn't hear anything interesting or innovative. Certainly nothing at all that would make me consider buying the soundtrack.

porsche4life 03-23-2011 06:07 PM

Maybe listen to it separate from the movie? Trent Reznor doesn't do boring....

McLovin 03-23-2011 06:08 PM

There was nothing special or exceptional about the music in that movie.

craigster59 03-23-2011 06:08 PM

The dialogue was too quick, like Michael Bay's editing. Makes me dizzy and want to hurl..

Christien 03-23-2011 06:17 PM

Myself, I enjoyed the quick dialogue. The script was the one redeeming quality of that movie. Not that I hated it, just that it really failed to live up to the hype, IMO.

I disagree that Trent Reznor doesn't do boring. He's had his day, back in the 90s, and he's past his prime.

His stuff has evolved, matured, changed. But it is still absolutely amazing, intricate, complex, layered, and ......... not boring.

You clearly have not listened to Ghosts, Year Zero, or The Slip....

Christien 03-23-2011 07:17 PM

No, that's true, I haven't listened to those, and perhaps I've sold him short. I got turned off with his earlier video game soundtracks and the crap I heard on the radio. And what I heard in the movie didn't impress at all.

Here's "The Slip", for free from Nine Inch Nails, yes it's legit
nin.com [download]- the slip

"Ghosts" are instrumentals that are the 'bones' of songs, meant to be built upon. Most of it is available free as well. I don't think you'd like Ghosts.

With Teeth, Year Zero, The Fragile, and The Slip are every bit as good as Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, or The Downward Spiral.

My 14 year old son and I liked it but we're both geeks. We also like Big Bang Theory

You have to pay attention from the opening scene and it never lets up. Cool movie in so many ways.
I suspect it wasn't accurate to what really happened but there's no way of knowing that for sure.

Agreed.

I can't recall a film for which I had such high expectations that were totally unfulfilled. A threadbare narrative stretched over two very tedious hours. The otherwise brilliant Aaron Sorkin doesn't seem the same post-rehab.

I pretty much detested every character in this film.

The movie's a rental at best ... certainly not worthy of all the awards / nominations it received (more a situation of not a lot of quality flix out there)
