Converting DVDs to an Ipxd format

So, I have some DVDs and rather than purchase them again for the Ipad/Iphones I have I would rather convert them into an mp4 file and go from there.

I have had some success using dvd decryptor and a program called red kawa but it hasn't been as successful as I would like and the support for the programs is not fantastic.

Anyone doing this better than I am?

Thanks!

Videora Ipod Converter works very well

Handbrake works for me.

Videora is Red Kawa and it just hasn't always worked for me.

I downloaded Daniusoft's free product and have done two good conversions so far.

Handbrake does 99% of the dvd's for me, and on the occasional one that has encryption, I'll run it through MacTheRipper first. (Mac OS X based).

Basically, if Handbrake pukes when trying to do the initial analysis, it'll probably require something like MacTheRipper to extract the content before hand.

And if you have VLC installed, Handbrake can use it's libraries to do an even better job at reading DVD's.

For Mac, the best programs are Mac the Ripper for decryption then Handbrake for ripping them into the format you want.

For PC, I have found DVDFab Decrypter and any burn program to work fine.

I use DVD Decrypter (or Imgburn, or whatever it is now) to rip an image of the dvd, then I use a program called Fairuse. It used to be free, but now they charge for it. :(
