Where to buy sheet metal in town?

Guys, I can only find 1/8" sheet metal in 2" strips max at Home Depot. What kind of place stocks 1'x1'x1/8"?

I'm making motor mounts for a motorcycle.

I buy mine from a metal supply company that also does fabrication. I have to drive about 30 miles.

BTW, I know that guys who do body fabrication like to shape a certain alloy of steel, but I don't know what alloy. I know it works into shape better than cheap steel.

1/8" sheet seems a little thin for a motor mount...

It is about stock for this bike. The engine is only 175cc (now 200cc). Long lengths are flexible by hand (too rigid to bend without leverage), but the mounts should only be 4"x6".

Here are some stock ones for a thickness comparison. My new engines holes are a couple inches off here and there.

Try welding shops, any type of fab shop--they will susually sell you flatstcok. Get a fulll sheet if possible--usually 44" wide x 120" long. Great to have on-hand for other projects. For comparison purposes wholesale (1) 44" x 120" 22 gauge flat would run you around 75.00

Call a sheet metal or AC install company.
They will probably cut what you need from scrap.
