FYI or food fer thought: wow truly amazed out of 47 people viewing NOBODY GRASPED THE VALUE OF THESE particular SMITHS!
i really thought we had some FINE SPOON -STERS on here, with lots of smarts on these. here i will clue you in: 1) 2 year only mfg of this exact model 2) PINNED BARREL 3) RECESSED bullets in cylinder ie. not sticking out of cylinder. both ops that the powers that be(were) at smiths during the early 1980's, decided to cease looking toward higher profit margins while product quality suffers. also if ya look at the "new classics" of this exact 29-2..................YOU will notice neither of the above machine ops are included. hmmmmm. is it real or is it a memorex "classic"? mines the real mccoy and i will be scarffing up any i find any finish(blue/stainless/nickel). multiple length barrels made but 2" and 4" are the most difficult to find.

well one thing is i have owned a 629 6" 1/2 lug since i think 1990 or so. it too went to doktor nelson ford(the gunsmith.com) for his SUPERSMITH job and then went to maganporting for quad magnaports. more fun than SEX! and incredible flame to boot. with 240 gr's to 300 gr's. just a tad long for humping tho.
so thats why we went 4" plus the collectible angle. today i dropped off the 4" and the "doktor" stated "this has never been shot!" holy ned! i upon purchase a week ago gave it a preliminary clean and the following morning at o-dark -thirty gave it the UBER FREEKING CLEAN. i suspected from the front of the cylinder it had been shot but not very much as i 1st wrote. the "doktor" stated that it had only been proof fired as no buildup was evident anywhere to indicate boxes and boxes shoved thru it. this SUPERSMITH JOB i got a $40 discount as i horsey traded my cocobolo OEM grips that dont fit me towards the supersmith job. and then..................since this is going to be my last ditch/last shot before i get eaten by a bear/mtn kitty/velociraptor/teradactyl spoon................... wez gonna QUAD MAGNAPORT IT ALSO! if i dont hit them at night, well the flame will fer sure light their azz'z up! i dont care what anyone says your hits on target INCREASE because of less barrel lift and you can come back onto target more quickly. less barrel rise, acquire target quicker. we played with a 6" model 29 next to my magnaported supersmithed 629 6" and hands down EVERYONE LIKED THE MAGNAPORTED 629 MORE no matter what rounds shot thru it. so we have some history with these for quite a few years. and whats really kool is he has his FFL lic. and will send it off to maganport there and back, dirt cheap insured to magnaport via USPS which he can do as an FFL and i would be forced to pay extremo bucks for fed ex /ups overnight. its the law YOU/ME have to tell fed ex /ups its a firearm and automatically it has to go overnight and that = more bucks. so yeah 5 minutes that made my day btwn it(model 29-2) never being fired aside from factory proof firing and it was made in 1980. i made a hell of a deal on it. and that is always a good thang being johnny on the spot whan a deal comes up. the "doktor" stated grab ANY of the 2" or 4" in blue/nickel/stainless as they had the least production numbers. the 6" and 8" command alot less bucks.
