				PBR and/or WEC: Anybody Watch?

OK, I admit it. I've become hooked on the PBR and to a limited extent to WEC. The participants are arguably crazy, but you gotta respect their skills and most of all their sportsmanship. They really seem to respect one another MUCH more than competitors in other sports... Individualism, no excuses.

I've gone to see the PBR in person twice, I would highly recommend the experience.

It would seem that it would be necessary to have really good seats (i.e. near the chutes) for it to be a worth it. The PBR seems to be getting so popular (although not among Pelicans apparently) that good seats must be quite difficult to come by.

We are WEC fans here. Looking forward to WEC 48 Faber vs. Aldo even though for the first time it will be PPV. Faber is the our sentimental favorite but I'm not all that confident he'll succeed against Aldo.

Well, the action certainly does take place in a fairly small area of the arena so in that respect your seats do count quite a bit. However, both times that I have gone you could get decent seats fairly inexpensively; we were about 30 rows back at the midpoint of the arena and I think our tickets were around $15 each. They make the entire thing enough of a spectacle that not being close to the chutes was not a big deal.

I haven't seen much of Aldo, other than a replay of his 8 sec win against Swanson from last June, which didn't provide much of an opportunity to see all his skills. Should be good on Apr 24. Something tells me that Faber may pull it out, he's due.

We saw plenty of Aldo when he beat Mike Brown for the title. He pretty much dominated from the start. Went into 2 rounds.

				WEC joins the UFC

WEC is now part of the UFC. Faber lost his bout to Aldo (5 rounds) and has since moved from Featherweight to Bantamweight. On July 2 he goes against Dominick Cruz. Should be a good fight.

We were in Santa Barbara this week and spotted Urijah on a training run down on Ledbetter beach. He was happy to stop and say hello. When he found out my son Zack was in Karate and had plans for high school wrestling he took time to give some advice. What a great guy - I don't expect many in his sport have the same character. Zack meets Urijah
