F1 Store Spoiler e-mails - no spoiler inside

Are you annoyed at the F1's store spoiler e-mails just hours after the races ? I apparently subscribed to it when I registered at F1's site. I never bought anything, but sometimes looked over their stuff. I noticed this year, that to apparently improve their sales, they blasted out e-mails just hours after the race saying "X wins the race. but Y team wear."

So I sent them the following e-mail to their customer service address

"Can you please at least wait a day to send out your victory e-mails? Some of us aren't in the same time zone as you and tape/DVR the races for later viewing. If you don't change it up soon, I'll just unsubscribe from you store mailings rather than having to avoid my e-mails on racing days."

Less than five minutes later, I apparently got an answer to whether they would change their e-mail tactics
"We are sorry to see you go but your unsubscribe request has been processed and you will no longer receive email communications from us."

Funny and annoying at the same time.

Your unsubscribe was automated. You sent an email to the bot which had the word "unsubscribe" in it. A computer read it looking for that word and took you off the list.

That's all that happened, I bet.

no no no....bernie himself sent you that email......expect a bill to arrive in the mail for his time LOL

Thanks for the explanation Schumi. It seems pretty silly that having the word unsubscribe in a long e-mail can so easily unsubscribe someone when they already have a link to unsub in the e-mail.

In any case, I am happy to know that I can safely open my e-mails on Sunday mornings without having to worry about F1 spoilers.

I sent them an email saturday morning after qualifying was spoiled, and got this response today:

Dear Vic,

Thank you for your email. Please accept our sincerest apologies that the promotional email has somewhat tarnished your experience of the race. We at the F1 store at Formulaone.com appreciate your comments and must agree that this is not how we want to manage our fans. We are constantly striving to improve the level of service we offer our fans through technology, processes and most importantly through fan feedback. The appropriate actions have now been taken to ensure that this does not happen again in the future. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards
