They may be superfluous here, but now you still followed the same rules as would result in 288 in the threads equation...

So your 322 proves that the rules work and should result in 288.

No I didn't.

When I cut and pasted from this site, "Math is Fun" :) Order of Operations - PEMDAS, '5 squared' pasted in as '52':

7 + (6 × 5 squared + 3) =

7 + 6 × 25 + 3 =

7 + 150 + 3 = 160
