This is why Ebay sucks. Vent
Nothing earth shattering. Just wanted everyone to see what @SS's you come in contact with on Ebay. Sold a computer processing chip to this guy and I get these emails starting from the bottom up. Left me negative feedback today without even trying to pay for the item he won. And I can't leave anything against him. Yah, great system. I'll get it removed but the whole process is stupid.
Negative Feedback left by Buyer for me, 911 fan Issue with paypal, offered to pay by other means, seller threatened me. Buyer: Member id brysolutions ( Feedback Score Of 75) Apr-12-11 09:57 Follow-up by(Apr-12-11 09:58): Tried to resolve, got nothing but threats from seller. Buyer beware Dear *911*bmw*fan, Well look, I obviously wanted this item. I also wanted the motherboard that it came from. Do you remember me contacting you prior to the end of the auction? If you want to be an ******* and threaten me go right ahead and do what you need to do. Do you really think negative feedback is that big of a deal? It's not. I don't do credit card transaction over the internet anymore, I've been a victim of fraud in the past and no longer trust ebay/paypal merchants with my credit card information. I have no idea why paypal is refusing my transactions (this is not the only one). I believe they may have flagged a transaction as fraudulent and have frozen my paypal account as a result. When I called them they were "still looking into it." So go ahead and cancel the transaction and leave negative feedback, which I will leave for you as well. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: *911*bmw*fan Dear Buyer I have had over 300 transactions with paypal as a buyer and a seller with never a problem so I am not sure what issue you are having. I can wait until you get this figured out with paypal. I am also a credit card merchant through my business and can take any major credit card. If you are looking to not follow through with your obligation of purchasing, that is your choice. I have contacted the next highest bidder and they have not contacted me back. That is how this usually goes. There is generally an issue of mistrust that goes along with this. The same with relisting it again. The next bidder after that is $39, which I am not selling for this amount. Be aware I will contact Ebay about a non paying winning bid in order to get my relisting fees credited and the negative feedback that goes along with this if you do not complete the auction transaction. Let me know your intentions so I can proceed. - *911*bmw*fan -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear *911*bmw*fan, What other payment options can you accept? I don't know if I will be able to use anything other than paypal, and I was told that they would have to call me back when they figure out what is wrong. That was yesterday, so I will call them again in about an hour. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Buyer I have time to wait. It has been my experience that the next highest bidder offers NEVER work. I can use different options other then paypal if needed. - *911*bmw*fan -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear *911*bmw*fan, I understand that I am obligated to pay for this item, however I am unable to. PayPal is rejecting the transaction and I do not know why. I have adequate funds in three different paypal accessible accounts, however paypal is rejecting the transaction. Please cancel this transaction so you are able to offer it to the next highest bidder. I apologize for this inconvenience. Last edited by 89911; 04-13-2011 at 03:28 AM.. |

I saw from the previous thread you worked for Ebay. I really don't care about getting negative feedback. What bothers me is the loopholes that buyers can do to sellers. I already started a inquiry in getting it corrected on my end. But isn't there anything you can do to deadbeat sellers? Why do the allow this?

well, its been quite awhile since i worked though, so lots of things have changed. like feedback. it is totally ridiculous that sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. what round-table decision-maker came up with that nonsense needs to be flogged.
i think you meant dead-beat buyers. non-paying bidder alerts. a buyer gets three of those, IIRC, without correcting the situation, they are suspended. also, leave them positive feedback, except state what happened. people love that. ban them from your auctions so they don't mess with you. then, if they open another account to mess with you, report it. they get suspended. you can also mess with them: report them for underage user, incorrect user information. this will cause them to have to jump through all kinds of hoops. don't get me started. all the nasty internet tricks i know, i learned from users doing it to each other.

Wow, good response. Positive feedback with a negative message. Sweet.

With the good comes the bad. I have also found things on ebay that I absolutely couldn't find otherwise. I am glad ebay exists but I too wish the losers would quit acting the way they act. He should have just mailed you a check and allowed you to wait for it to clear before shipping.

eBay sucks for many more reasons than the one you outlined here.

Ebay is perfect compared to Quibids.
They advertise and say you can have 10 free bids by using a code word but when you sign up and create an account, they automatically charge your credit card for $60. "Oh, it's all in the terms and conditions. You didn't read those several pages of legaleze? your problem. " 5 e-mails later after threaterning to call my credit card company and cancel the charges and then tell everyone on the interwebs how sucky they are, they agreed to credit the $60 back to me but they also immediately closed the quibids account I set up. Waaa. |

I sold a brand new still in box watch with the plastic on the band on eBay. The buyer paid for the watch and got it. Then he took out the part he needed and sent it back claiming it did not work. I was screwed.

When I bought my 911 it came with a brand new, still in the box off-white colored headliner bought from tweeks for $59 (mid america).
Onliest problem was, the original headliner was brown. I bought a correct brown headliner and decided to e-bay the off-white one. In the add I described it as a brand new off-white headliner still in the box, bought from tweeks, their part number, even a link to their online catalog describing it. Two guys got in a bidding war and it sold for $110 plus $5 for shipping. they could have just clicked on the link and buoght the same thing for almost half the price and got free shipping. |

Ebay only works right as long as you have a direct uplink from the core motherboard(brainstem/greymatter).
Plug yourself in, then be able to join your friends. |

Got an email from Ebay telling them to call with my problem. Called, they looked at the messages and removed the feedback in less then 5 minutes. Weird!! Maybe they are trying to do right.

I had a surprisingly smooth transaction on ebay recently... granted I'm on once every year or so but read countless horror stories about things misrepresented.
It seems like basically everything is from someone's ebay store. I hardly see anything from individuals anymore. The only time I get on there is when I'm tired of searching locally.
