Resume help...
I know construction is down, but as many as I have sent out to other companies/industries, I must need help with mine.
Can I send it to some of you guys for help? Thanks Jim |
Construction is doing decent down here on Hilton Head. I know I've seen a few ads hiring. Might try Peeples construction, I think they're one I saw ads for.
|
I'll give them a try, but need to look at my resume first.

Mark. No PM yet. Can you re-send.
Anyone else? |
What kind of construction work are you looking for, craft such as fitter, welder, electrician?
|
PM not working? Glad to help. Send it to mark_a_howard@urscorp.com

Right now, I'm wishing I had those talents, but I'm looking more at some some type of supervisor, management, etc. My background is in new residential and various commercial construction, etc.

Rocket,
I am sending PM. But we will keep this thread going so it can get exposure. I can see that you have one skill I severely lack. 'Supervisor, management, etc' you have people skill. Times now remind me of late '70s, economy going to s**t & places folding. Things picked up though & I'm hoping they will now. I see Mt Pleasant. With Boeing, things will probably pick up big in your area. Have you thought about getting a general contractor license & doing additions, remodeling, etc? |
Got the PMs. Thanks.
I'm at my sons swim meet this weekend and will reply when I get home. There are a lot of existing homes in Charleston, plus what new construction there is. Boeing's going to help, but it won't be the end all cure. I've got my residential license and passed the unlimited GC exam, but getting a construction loan is hard to come by, plus the existing inventory as mentioned makes it a risky time build. Guys that have transitioned to remodeling and additions are struggling here from my understanding. It's a small market as well. |
