Security / Open door "light" project
Hello to the brain trust ...
I seem to be developing a habit of leaving my garage door open at night when I go to bed ... Age and maybe some cocktails seem to NOT be helping. My garage is my man cave and I hang out , listen to the radio, (cocktails and +) but then often forget to hit the button. 4 bikes , 2 cars, tools .. What I want to do is have a light that is ON when the door is open . I was thinking of a led next to my bed / on alarm clock that was on when door is open. I saw some stuff at the "shack" but any thing pre made triggers a buzzer or chime. Have any of you seen something even close to what I want or how but some creative input as to what I can make . |
Do you have an alarm system that you could add a door sensor to?
Mounted to the floor and wired to the system, the sensor is rugged enough to run over without damage. Magnet attached to the door. |

Here is a simple solution:
915LM - Garage Door Monitor My Dad put everything in his pockets including the garage door openers. Needless to say the door often opened when he sat down or reached in his pocket. Rather than depend upon his neighbors to tell him his door was open we got one of these and placed it in his line of sight from where he sat most of the time. This is no longer an issue now that he has moved to an apt (car is gone finally too) but makes it easy to check when we are cleaning, checking on or painting at his house. |
"ddback" that is perfect .
LoL ... who woluda thunk that I could have Googled exactly what I wanted instead of over-thinking it. Garage Door Monitor I will look into my alarm (that is for "kc911") but think it will set a one time signal the wires I taped into came on then right off ... I found this while continuing my search ... Just in case anyone else has CRS. http://www.garagebutler.com/ |
