yeah, I tried Vista not long ago. (OE for a little tablet cmptr) My thinking was that surely by now Msft had patched up the POS OS. --I was wrong.

XP sp3, otoh, flys on the old machine.

Win 7 has been w/o issue as well.

I get paid to put up with this on a daily basis. I don't mind offering help on PP.

Personally, I almost always test hardware first. There are instances, like this evening, where looking at the MB and seeing blown capacitors makes it very obvious as to the problem.

After I rule out HW, then I ***** and complain about the OS. :)
