Home speaker option-outdoors

As an extension of the other thread, what recommendations do you have for outdoor speakers? I'm looking to add another pair, current set is a pair of Jamo (from back before they were bought out, by Klipcsh). I want actual speakers, not ones that look like rocks. Any recommendations on speakers that sound good, not looking for top of the line, but not cheap either. Just decent sound outside.

I'm happy with my Klipsch speakers but they're used as back ground music around the pool and not for real listening.

I have a set of wall mounts I picked up from Radio Shack years back. Love em!

As long as you don't have big expectations about sound quality, there are numerous options. Most major speaker companies have decent outdoor speakers. In fact, you might notice the same housing is used by many firms. They all buy from the same plastics molding company in China & stick their own drivers in. Many speakers are only water-resistant - which are meant for under-eave mounting. This also gives them a wall for coupling & should help the bass response which is typical pretty anemic outdoors.

I really like the Definitive Technology speaker line. I bought a pair of these last year for our backyard remodel and could not be more pleased with the sound.

I like the Polk Audio outdoor speakers. They sound pretty decent, and seem pretty indestructible.

By indestructible, I don't mean under an awning on my deck. I have a pair of these things mounted to the top of a vehicle, painted and fiberglassed in, on a truck shaped like a pig, in the pouring rain in Seattle and they still work.

I have Polk Atrium 65's for 8 years now and they still sound great.
They are under a covered deck so not hit by rain or UV.

Outdoor Patio Speakers | Custom Install Patio Speakers $19[/QUOTE]

Thank You, lots of options on this link. These speakers will be under an eave, no direct moisture contact. Biggest reason for adding another set of speakers is being able to hear the music in the spa without having to crank up the speakers I now have. New speakers will be in a closer location to spa. Also it will help fill the yard with sound without blasting out the patio area.
