				daft punk road trip

went on a trip up to Independence, with is about 2.5 hours away. this was the town featured in daft punk's movie, Electroma. I took some pictures (and also included some screenshots from the movie!) it was a neat town...complete with a defunct porsche service place. the town's population was around 500 people (per the sign outside) on the way up there, there was a shack (literally) in the middle of nowhere that sold olives and jerky. What a combo! i picked up some locally grown olives to munch on the ride home. their ferrari 412 is being auctioned right now for tsunami relief! pics:

One of my guys made his own Thomas outfit for Halloween last year. The helmet build took a while.

loving it. fun little car...great stereo, lots of neat features, and i managed 44mpg on the trip up there at 70mph with the air conditioning on. if it proves to be reliable, i'll certainly pop on the abarth when it comes out.

That's up on the 395 right? Lone Pine or Independence? One of those little towns before Bishop. We pass through there on our way up to Mammoth. Also, young guy but I've got no idea who Daft Punk is....

yep...that's independence. if any of you guys saw the new TRON, they wrote the soundtrack for it. they had several famous electronic music songs in the 90's and 2000's
