Lost a friend today

I loved this car, it was mostly my lady's car but I was planning on keeping it after she had piled a bunch of miles on it, and was done with it.
She was merging in heavy traffic yesterday morning, and basically got tee boned by a fast moving Outback . I don't have any pics handy, but passenger door was hit real hard, and moved the rocker panel and inner structure in. They declared it a total this morning. I am glad, I would not have wanted this car back if they were going to fix it. No one was injured in the malay
89911 stopped up Yesterday morning to greet, and he got to see the carnage as well. It was good to meet him, and check out his sweet Carrera.
I guess I get to do some car shopping now, I pretty much have my sights on a 325 xi with a standard, should make the perfect family car for road warriors like us.
On a positive note, I bought the car cheap with some minor issues, sorted them all out, drove the car for 2.5 years, and still managed to come out a couple of grand ahead.
RIP Sportwagen.

Glad it all worked out and everyone is safe.

I was looking for a sportwagon when I bought my coupe.

The xi's would be nice with 4x4, but I hear they are parts specific and expensive.

Most parts are the same, except the fwd parts and the oil pan. Back seat's going to be smaller.

We've got the 525 Sportwagen, which we bought new when we could still afford to do such a wild and crazy thing. Now, with 120k miles on it, it has been the best car we've ever owned. I feel for you, and will be really sad to see ours go, when it finally comes time for that.

Don't mess with my head like that.

Glad your ''friend'' was able to make the sacrifice, and that no one had to suffer. Can't ask for more.

A good looking wagon...today's body style just isn't as "clean"...
