Saw a 991 today at lunch

Sorry no pictures. It looks a lot better in person than in pictures. The pictures make it look so much bigger than a 997.

I think I'd buy one someday ...

that's all...

The front of the red one looks slightly Ferrari-ish, no?

Lovely of course.

I don't work in Naperville, but close enough to Porsche's finance office. Matter of fact, I bought a pair of Blizzaks from one of the managers who works there a couple weekends ago. I drive by that building everyday.

The rear looks like a cross between a later model Aston and Lotus.

That rear end needs to have smoother curves. The current design (as mentioned) looks like an Aston, except with a big 'ol shelf out there.

It looks like they took a generic cartoon flashy sportscar and made a few changes to make it more 911ish.

It is bigger in every direction than a 997.

I'd like to see a 911/964/993 parked next to a 991 for comparison.

Even sadder, the Corvette has gotten smaller and lighter over the past 3 generations, while the 911 has gotten bigger and heavier. I believe with the 997 and C6, for the first time ever, and 911 was longer than a Corvette. I believe the 991 is 2 inches longer than a 997.

I was looking at the 991 specs and it appears to be about 6" wider and 7.5" longer than my 964. The heights are almost the same (991 is slightly lower), and the curb weights are nearly the same. The big difference is in the suspension and drivetrain. What a difference two decades makes!
