That's sort of it...so I can tell the shafts apart. I carry a seperate break cue, but the Josey custom came with two shafts. I have a different type of layered tip on each of those, so this will help me tell them apart without having to pull both from the case. One heads goes on the cue...

But really? They're mainly for the fun of it...:) Kind of like painted center caps on Fuchs wheels...
