Infinity FX35--- whos got one?
Looking at trading in the 328i for a 2007 FX35 tomorrow. Anyone with experience with the Infinity? How is the maintenance? I plan on doing much of it myself. All info, good and bad is appreciated.
Thanks, Ryan |

No experience with the 35 although I seriously considered the 45 a few years back. There is a dedicated FX forum out there. The 07' and later 35's are very nice.

I had a FX45 back in 2004. Nice vehicle but such a gas hog. I was getting 16 mpg on supreme on a good day. Traded it in for something more useful but it was very nice. Have you checked out the Infinity forums yet?

We have a 2006 FX35 which I think is the same as the 2007. We are not fans of the suspension at all. I am all for a firm suspension, but the car loses composure going over bumps. If you hit a small bump while turning, the whole back end seems to jump out. I would suggest an extended test drive on some rough roads before signing the final papers. Otherwise, comfort-wise, the car is very nice.
Gas mileage is rather poor though. We just did a 500 mile road trip and got 22 mpg going 70 to 75 mph. I wish it got another 5 mpg. City mileage is poor and we are lucky to get 18, but 16 is the norm. Lastly, one thing to watch out for is the gear that moves the seat backwards and forwards. There is a plastic gear that moves the seat that can sometimes strip. The official repair is apparently very expensive, but you can buy an aftermarket piece to fix it. If the seat doesn't move smoothly, it might be that gear. Good luck.

My wife had a new 04 when they came out. Agree with everything already said. Very clunky rear end. I've read they've fixed the bugs since then.

no go
Well, I didn't get it. Not because I didn't like but the salesman decided to play games. Price was 24,450, wouldn't budge. Couldn't tell me an interest rate, only would finance at 72 months, 3k less on the BMW than the BMW dealer would give me.......
Thanks for the info provided, I'm looking for another. Ryan |
