There is a nice loop I like to do in the evening after rush hour.
Take Lincoln to Culver. Turn left and take Culver until it turns into Pacific Coast Highway in Playa Del Rey. This way the sun will be setting over the ocean while you head south. Should be a nice on shore breeze.Turn left by the para sailing guy on the top of the sand dunes at Airport Rd and drive the strip of road where Carol Shelby said he got his Cobra to do 0-100-0 in under ten seconds. Jump on the 105 , watch for a compression dip coming up the ramp, take the 405 north exit. That is a great long sweeper thru the tunnel. It's a long tunnel and best taken in 4th at 6k. Exit Hughs Parkway a nice left right that will test your nerves. Lift when you see the palm trees on the left so you have plenty of braking before the lights. Get onto Westchester parkway for a hi speed blast to the Lincoln exit. The Lincoln exit is a decreasing right hander so don't early apex.
The drive should take about 40 minutes so when you are done stop by my place for a beer.

Steve

Seriously, it's Westchester, pick a direction and go, it's almost impossible to go wrong.

I figured, but if you get to the West Coast it's a great drive and your still welcome to stop by for a beer.

some very nice sections of the bronx river parkway, and also route 22.
route 218 near west point, stop and say hello to formerly steve w. while you're there.
you can also do the taconic.
get a v-1 and keep an eye out for the man.

Westchester NY is a hell of a lot nicer than Westchester (LAX).

if you figure to do the hawks nest down 97 you can head inland on 55 towards the Neversink Reservoir and Big Indian. Nice Catskill roads.

Westchester LAX is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. A slice of Mayberry if you will.
