What is up with the weather in the NE?

By far the worst spring I can remember. Today, rain and a high of 48. Spare me the pictures of warm weather and sunny days. I am well aware it sucks here, but not THIS much. Is there a La Nina or something going on? At least I know what its like for springtime in Newfoundland. If you've got a week to live, come to Pittsburgh around now, it will seem like a lifetime.:(:(

I am with you there. This has got to be the longest, rainiest spring that I can remember.

fastfredracing 05-04-2011 11:26 AM

I was going to post the same thing, this has been an awful spring, I have been waiting patiently for weeks to get the cars out, but there is just no point. I swear that we have had less than 10 decent days since march, and not one time were two of them in a row.
I like it here , the people are down to earth, real estate is affordable, the landscape is beautiful, great place to raise kids, but the weather sucks it.

I've been out your way twice in the past 5 weeks for NRA courses and it has been miserable. Cold, rainy. Heck the first course we had to keep hunkering down on the range because of snow squalls. At least it ain't piling up or flooding.

The beemer ain't happy and the Duc refuses to come outside.

Possible snow here tonight. Raining and 45* right now.

Wil Ferch 05-04-2011 11:46 AM

Wil here from Buffalo, NY......what are you expecting me to say?....warm weather?. Well....for 1-2 days about 2 weeks ago, we hit 81, then it went back down into the upper 30's and 40's again as it was before that....miserable, bone-chilling rain throughout.

When it *will* get nicer....it will jump again to 88 or 86 or so....overnight.

Ahh.... the elusive 72 degrees.....never see it .... :(

We're right there with you here in the Midwest.
With the added excitement of a few hundred tornadoes!!

Pac NW is having a colder & wetter spring than usual...So, waiting for Webb to tell us this is part of global warming. ;)

I'll take 48/60 dry 365. 4th day of near 90 here. I go under a bush at anything over 80. I don't like it here.

masraum 05-04-2011 02:20 PM

Today the low was 52°, humidity bottomed out at about 30%, and the high was 77-78°. It's been unseasonably cool off and on for a couple of weeks, but it's also been the dryest year that I can remember in a long time.

Exactly a week ago the high was 97-98°.

We had 3.5" of rain in Jan, .5" in Feb, and since then, I don't think I've gotten more than .02".

My mother in south Florida is 24" lower than what they've normally seen by this time of year.

wdfifteen 05-04-2011 05:40 PM

I saw a faintly glowing orb near the horizon this evening. Unfortunately for those of you in the NE it was moving west.

My mother in southern Ohio is about 2" lower than normal, but she's 82 years old so everyone cuts her some slack.

Frost warning in the sticks tonight. This is May, right?
