Sandlot Football - BlueSkyJaunte Has an Idea!

BlueSkyJaunte thyinks that football should be played sans pads (and to the death - that I don't agree with) but the idea is very cool!

Imagine pro football players playing like we all did growing up - tackle football, no pads and all the hits and chop blocks you can survive.

Hay, they have ultimate fighting and rugby why not Sandlot? I would pay $10 to see it provided they had real athletes playing.

Never gonna happen. Nobody is gonna pay a $40M/year athlete when he's gonna get injured and sit on the bench all year.

Except me, of course. This would never happen without my visionary genius.

We could use violent inmates as players. Every point scored, yard gained, etc., gets you a reduction in sentence. Every foul, etc. gets you an increase.

I have played both - while ruggers is tough getting upended after a catch, 'git'n painted' (as my Son would say - a driving shoulder into the gut) or 'samiched' is far worse without pads than a scrum or a tackle.
