Adding another Colt to the herd!

Got this on the way..... a Colt Police Positive Target revolver. It is in .22 rf, 6" bbl and adjustable sights. Flat top frame and checkered rear grip strap are features found only on the Target models. Only about 4% of the total PP production were done in the Target pattern. Here's a couple of pics. Oh, yeah, circa 1935!! Slight blueing wear at the muzzle and on the front edges of the cylinder, otherwise the finish is pushing 100%. The front sight is adjustable for elevation and the rear for windage. Typical of prewar Colt target revolvers.

Mags...........

Art,

Found an original two tone mag for my 1903 Colt. It was on Auctionarms. Not cheap, but much less than the ones on gunbroker!

Very cool Fred. I have a soft spot for DA .22 revolvers, haven't come across any Colts as yet though.

Fred,
Excellent find!

Cool. I like it.

I'm still keeping my eyes open for a decent deal on a Officer's Model Match in .22 but I have not found it yet. Seems like about the time I decided it would be nice to find one was the same time the asking prices jumped.

+1. Jim, it would take your "first born" as a fair trade for my Diamondback though :)

Thanks for the offer on the DB Keith. But I tend to take more of a zen approach on almost all the firearms I've aquired over the years. If I was meant to have it, it will walk in the front door one day.

Officers Model .22

I don't have an Officers Model Match, but I do have an Officer's Model Target in .22caliber. It has a bit more wear than the Police Positive, but shoots very accurately! The plastic grips have been replaced with a nice set of original Colt grips since this picture was taken.

I really like your approach...fortunately I've trained my pack to "stay" :). Just curious (I remember you once posted a nice collection of .45s)...do they ever walk out the door? I mean, do folks come "looking to buy" (I'm sure you don't let the "desirables" slip away though)...

Keith, I'm usually willing to do a show&tell if it's one that's stored at the shop. But once I've glomed on to one it's pretty tough to pry it away. As you would say, my pack is also well trained. In the event of my untimely dimise, with a little advertising my estate sale should be well attended.
