I lived in Ft Myers, FL from '80-'82 and I saw a lot of young people get messed up. It was tough to make a decent living since the wages were so low and many went for the fast bucks, which generally meant illegal activities. The warm weather and beautiful surrounding added to the "play all night and sleep all day" wreckless lifestyle that got many of them into trouble. I joined the USN at the end of '82 or I might have joined them...

i think alot of the people getting ****ed up would get ****ed up even if they moved to maine.......
one thing i noticed (except for a good handfull of people i've met) is the majority of the florida population is simply lazy and always looking for the "easy way"......that's where the "trouble" comes from......don't get me wrong.....i know alot of native floridians who "do it right".......but the average joe schmo is lazy here......the lack of work ethic and morals is where the trouble comes from......

those of us who have our heads on strait have no worries, work hard, and enjoy life........
