NYC contact / referral request - Phone/IT related

So I'm in the middle of this big project in NYC and working from the west coast on it has some serious drawbacks.

My two biggest misses are with the phones and with local IT support, so here is what I'm looking for:

Phones:
Verizon is a huge PITA. Here in Seattle, I use a local company, (Integra Telecom) to manage all of my lines, and they go deal with Qwest. Since they are actually an important customer to Qwest, they can get things done in a timely manner. I also have an account rep that I talk to regularly, so I don't have to re-explain my situation twice per day to random call center reps just to get transferred (sometimes) to the correct department that seems to have no direct #.

Anyone have any experience with similar local providers in Manhattan?

IT:
Over here, if I have an issue in a store that isn't covered under POS contract, I just drive over and fix it. 3000 miles to look at a fussy printer isn't exactly a run fix it sorta deal. I need to find a local person / small firm for doing quick run over and fix simple IT stuff. I also have some inital networking installs that I'd like to do remotely, and talking to someone that does that all day vs. our construction guys would be super useful.

So does anyone do that or have any referrals?
